Dr. Ivan did his undergraduate degree at the prestigious American Schiller International University in London, England, where he won the ‘Sir Isaac Newton Award’ for his excellence in Science. From there on, he went to medical school at St. Georges University School of Medicine in Grenada, graduating in 2001. During this time, he had the unique opportunity as a medical student to train both in England and the United States learning both countries diverse medical culture. He completed his Postgraduate training in Internal Medicine in 2004, followed by fellowship in Infectious Diseases at the Seton Hall University, New Jersey.
In 2006, he moved to Ocala, the place he now calls ‘home’ after over 10 years. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases and has worked hard over the last 10 years to establish himself at Munroe Regional Medical Center, Ocala Regional Medical Center, West Marion Community Center and Kindred. He is also a member of the ‘Infectious Disease Society of America’ and the American College of Physicians’. He is credentialed and a member of the infection control committee at all of the hospitals listed above.
Dr. Ivan has received several awards over the years:
- The ‘Consumer Research Council of America’ has awarded him the ‘America’s Top Physician’ award for 9
consecutive years – 2009, 2010, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017!
- He has been honored with the ‘Patient’s Choice Award’ for the “Most Compassionate Doctor” for two years

- He received the ‘Top 10 Doctor 2014 Vital Awards’ too!
